Quotes:
The Wireless “Usurping the standard folk formula and carving a niche of their own, Dave Gerard and the Watchmen have a habit of grabbing whatever instrument comes to hand — be it guitar, banjo, mandolin, upright bass, harp… — retuning it and going from there. With rich harmonies meeting melody full on, Gerard and the Watchmen could be the next alt folk heros.”
Mary Anne Hobbs XFM – “We’ll be hearing a lot more of them, absolutely Beautiful”
Folk Radio UK “Gerard and the Watchmen rank amongst our favourite bands that we play on Folk Radio UK. Their vocals and harmonies are of the finest out there and the enhanced layering of guitar, upright bass, percussion and violin form the perfect match. They don’t get much better than this!”
SoundonSound “Simple, unpretentious, and lilting.folk in a non?traditional vein, but oozing influences from traditional and renegade folk stalwarts alike, such as Nick Drake and Bert Jansch, at times crossing into very trad country with banjo and pedal steel.”
Soundcloud “Tunes made us feel warm and cozy even in the chilly Berlin December.”
Communion “amaze us with their rich harmonies and lots and lots of instruments.”
